Not too long ago, Sugarloaf Salmon seemed like an unachievable dream. We have always had compliments on our home smoked salmon and were proud to be supplying our friends and family with a delicious and natural product. Only recently our dream became a reality when we took a gamble and decided to pursue Sugarloaf Salmon.
We are huge lovers of the finer things in life but had so many bad experiences with store bought salmon, some had no flavour and were insipid and others were a displeasing, unnatural colour with added nasties like nitrates and preservatives. We even found some products that had been sliced too thick and were chewy so it ruined that melt in your mouth experience that Sugarloaf Salmon has perfected. Our goal for Sugarloaf Salmon is to produce a high quality and consistent smoked salmon that our customers can rely on when entertaining, having a beachy picnic or even an indulgent snack.
Sugarloaf Salmon only uses Tasmanian Atlantic salmon of the finest quality. The salmon is cured over days in the traditional method and wood smoked using Australian sourced woodchips, which marry in perfectly with the delicate flavour of the fish. The resulting product delivers a perfectly balanced flavour and a succulent textured finish which leaves you wanting more! We hope Sugarloaf Salmon is a welcome addition to the large array of fine products that are favourites to the locals in the South West region.
